Description
The Eungella National Park is situated on a plateau that peaks at just around 1200m at Mount Dalrymple. The park boasts several varieties of rainforest, from notophyll vine forests in the higher regions to mesophyll forests in the lower regions.
History
When the park was established in 1941, the area was declared to be just around fifty-thousand hectares. In 1986, the park was further expanded to include land at Mt.Beatrice and forest near Finch Hatton. This added further three-thousand or so hectares to the park.
Endemic Species
The Eungella National Park is renowned for being a sanctuary to a great number of Australia’s iconic endemic species. The Leaftail Gecko, Euastucus Eungella and Eungella Day Frog are all found here. There has also been a recorded total of 175 different species in the park.
Experiences
