Amongst the iconic attractions in Auckland, the Sky Tower is not only an awe-inspiring sight to behold but to experience first-hand too; if you plan to visit it (and you definitely should!), the below information will help.

Tower Location
The Sky Tower is conveniently located in the city’s Central Business District so reaching it won’t be a problem especially when based at properties like Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences, just an 8-minute walk away. This attraction can also be easily accessed on foot from the central bus and train station known as the Britomart Transport Centre, while the InterCity Sky City Bus Terminal is at its doorstep too. Keep in mind, the tower is open from 9:30am to 8:00pm from Wednesday to Sunday and 9:30am to 6:00pm from Monday to Tuesday.
The Views
Spanning a height of 328 metres, the Sky Tower is the tallest of its kind in New Zealand and as you can imagine, offers truly breathtaking views! Those visiting from a nearby Auckland City hotel can take the lift to the Main Observation Deck where from a 186-metre-high vantage point, one will be surrounded by 360° panoramas; the vistas stretch out for around 80 km in every direction and you will see notable landmarks, volcanoes and more. You can also head to Level 60 where you will find the Sky Deck with spectacular views at even greater heights.
Unique Experiences
For something different, try the SkySlide at the Main Observation Deck which incorporates cutting-edge VR technology to take you on an exhilarating virtual ride on glass tubes around the Sky Tower. Want something more action-packed than virtual reality?
Nothing beats the adrenaline-pumping experience of the SkyJump where you can leap off the tower from a height of 192 metres; don’t worry, you will be safely strapped to a harness as you fall 53 floors down! For something a little less intense, go on the sensational SkyWalk outside the tower along a 1.2-metre-wide platform which is also 192 metres above the ground.
Dining & Drinks
All that excitement is bound to have activated your hunger pangs and the good news is that the Sky Tower has got you covered. For a truly unforgettable dining experience, look to enjoy a meal at Orbit 360˚, a revolving restaurant at the top of the tower which takes meals with a view to all new heights! If you are looking for fine food, wine, and creative cocktails, head to The Sugar Club or enjoy drinks amidst stunning vistas at the SkyBar on Level 50.
