Maybe not as popular as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda still makes for a worthwhile visit, especially if you are interested in the history of Xian.

About
During the Song and Tang Dynasties, the temple was known as the Jianfu Temple Pagoda and then, during the period of the Yonghui, the Wild Goose Pagoda was built. Because both the temples looked alike and that was bigger than the older one, it became the Big and Small Wild Goose Pagodas.
Location
Located close to many hotels in Xi An, this temple is less than half an hour away from Grand Park Xian, for instance. You can choose public transport or even better yet, hire a cab with the help of your hotel helpdesk and travel to the pagoda with no hassle at all.
Architecture
Built with blue bricks, this pagoda had about 14 floors when it was originally constructed. Back then, the height of the pagoda rose up to almost 45 metres. After a few natural disasters like earthquakes and storms, there are only 12 floors of the temple now. There is an underground palace right below the pagoda too.
Going In
A wooden staircase will take you to the top, and it is a quite a climb. The path gets narrower as you get higher, so you have to be on the thinner side to make it all the way up, regardless of your physical fitness.
