Tornado Tower
This magnificent structure is most known for its unique hourglass shape and stretches up 200 metres into the sky. With 52 floors the tower is home to office spaces but also various public restaurants. At night time, the tower showcases a magnificent lighting display making it a highlight of the city’s skyline, visible from the best hotels in Doha.
The Miraculous Journey by Damien Hirst
This is a public art installation located in front of the Sidra Medical and Research Centre and around 20 minutes from the Al Najada Doha Hotel by Tivoli. It consists of 14 bronze sculptures that depict the stages of human life from conception to birth and is one of the more captivating art pieces in Doha.
Al Zubara Fort
This historical fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site and features 3 large circular towers and a rectangular tower. It was built by Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani in 1938 as a coast guard station. It now serves as a museum and hosts exhibitions regularly that focus on the area’s history.
Barzan Towers
These 19th-century towers feature watchtowers that are more than 52 feet tall and also include large staircases and architectural elements. They were built to guard the rainwater that was collected in the valley nearby and also to observe the moon and pinpoint the beginning of Ramadan.
